Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Boysenberry aromas with a spicy edge. Assertive medium tannins on the palate, with cranberry, blackberry, spicy, stalky, cola, red cherry, and black tea notes, and a very long, spicy finish.
Vineyard Notes
The grapes are from a single block of 777 clone Pinot Noir planted in 2001.
Winemaker Notes
The grapes were harvested by hand and 75% destemmed. The fruit underwent a 5-day cold soak. After fermentation began, the must was pumped over and punched down twice daily until dry and pressed. The wine settled in a tank overnight, and was then racked to 25% new French oak barrels to age for 13 months until bottling.
